>>38451372This, although at the same time I do agree with the people stating that Pokemon hasn't ever really been strongly driven by its narrative and when it has tried it usually comes off as divisive or worse. I wouldn't mind the cutscenes if they were important to the progression, a lot of the cutscenes feel like they don't need to be there, like if they were just a dialogue conversation like the player has with NPCs instead of what they are in Gen 7 then they'd be more tolerable, having cutscenes that are immediately followed by an important battle (e.g. Totems, Kahunas, Guzma/Lusamine), an encounter with a Legendary Pokemon or an important emotional scene (ala the three cutscenes with N in BW; Nimbasa City, Dragonspiral Tower & N's Castle) then the flow of the game wouldn't be damaged by them and they wouldn't feel as invasive as they currently are.
