I only like it for following pokemon, I actually shiny hunted the three birds and Mewtwo. Now all of them are in my party and some cheater did me a solid by giving me two Melmetals, one shiny and one regular from some site called Pokefella and finally, I like Green's austic ass I just wish she actually got stronger for the rematch.

Everything else wasn't all that great through I kinda wanna bang the rocket grunt now since they nerfed Lorelie's tits.

It's fun on the surface, an easy-going Pokémon experience with a fun catching mechanic is a nice one-time step back from the regular formula. However, there is no replay value in this, neither is there any reason to keep playing after defeating the champion other than a few battles and catching Mewtwo. And seeing how this has been a recent trend since Gen 6, it's evident that Gamefreak no longer prioritises in replayability. Once the game is bought, they don't care about how many times it's played. Just as long as it's safe for kids and makes critics satisfied after 30 minutes of gameplay, it's a success.

it's worth, you can skip random encounters or just dick around and hunt for shinies, after misty you are pretty much free to do kanto in any order

Did they add any late game battling/post game content? Filling the dex is cool but I don't care enough to go shiny hunting when they're so common in recent gens. IMO shiny pokemon haven't been special since around gen 4. If I can get 30 hours or so out of it I'll give it a shot.

It’s definitely worth 30 hours, but I love shiny hunting in this game. The idea that I can see it overworld just makes it that much more fun. It is incredibly easy compared to most games though, so that won’t appeal at all.
Post game is interesting but not great, you get 153 master trainers who have level 60-75 versions of a Pokémon that you must beat them with using the same Pokémon. Other than that, fighting red, green, and catching the 4 legendaries, that’s it.

I loved the beginning of it. Then Pokémon started being able to move around the screen and I learned that the wonky motion controls and absurd number of 3-shake-breaks made the game literally unplayable outside handheld mode. Then I finished the game and realized that even the after game was unplayable because the experience of soaring in the sky above Kanto is ruined by the fact that there is no hotkey to mount and dismount ride Pokes, meaning that I have to go into the menu twice every time I have to change areas, completely eviscerating the purpose of flying aimlessly around.
