Nigga, Gen 5 is one of my faves, but the game is flawed from the get-go; All of the starters are poor.

Unova is my favourite region, BW/BW2 are my favourite games, and Emboar is a real bro, but the starters are, by far, the worst part of the game. Great potential, baddy bad execution. At least we now know the starters arent an indicator of a game's quality.

I have 800 hours on my original white copy + i have replayed gen 5 several times and never used dreamworld or even know what it's about aside from tha it has some connection to hidden abilities

It's really only the starters and early game mons which are really mediocre. Once you get to the cave/woods you start encountering the cool mons.

I knew some shithead was gonna say this after I made this post.
It doesn't learn it naturally by level-up. It's one of those moves that it'll only get as an Emboar after you get to the Move Reminder more than halfway through the game.
That's a hellish amount of time to only have with Arm Thrust, being a 15 BP multi-hit move.
You can't get the Low Sweep or Brick Break TMs until after that point as well.

These games by far are my favourite. I just know that GF is going to cut a whole bunch of things though.

He's the only unova starter I used in maingame. Just don't use fighting moves then. Heat crash and head smash is good enough.

It also has to do with it's high defense and high speed

If you cant win with a starter in the game, you're probably just bad at it.

Emboar isn’t the only Pokémon that has this. You also have Rock Smash. You’ll be fine

I'm replaying White 2 and I forgot how much I enjoyed that game. I love 5th gen, but having an expanded dex to include mons from all regions makes the games a lot better, which is something I hope GF considers when remaking these games.
