Sonichu is perceiving time at a faster rate then his father so he is anticipating his father's statement and making a quip before hand about his father's slow speed. A plebeian simple minded writer would craft this line with breaks to the textbubble so that it reads more like this:
Chris: What the...? Sonichu-
Sonichu: You don't have to tell me twice!
Chris: RUN!
Sonichu: But during the stoneage...
But the great Christian Weston Chandler understood that true fans and intelligent readers perceive his work on a higher level, a more sophisticated multi-dimensional level. They don't simply read Sonichu's they PERCEIVE it on a higher level.
