Literally everything. Hoenn was the first and only flawless region. In fact the whole gen was flawless from the Kanto Remake to the GC games to even the the early DS games.

We will never have something this flawless ever again bros, but I'm not sad. I'm happy that I got to witness it..

That shit looks today so good. I alway adored the weather trio back then. But bros why is tpci so fucking shit? Pokemon is a huge thing and we still don´t have actual good wallpapers. - Was able to represent various environments much more vividly, something I do think given the direction in Gen 2 would've been possible on the GBC but we never ended up seeing
- Graphical bump which I'd argue actually pressured Gen 4 & 5 to do the same
- Strong thematic tying between the box legendaries
