Why aren't all fully evolved Pokemon competitively viable and why isn't gamefreak doing anything about it? Why do certain Pokemon exist if another just does a better job?

Gamefreak is too much of a pussy to do major rebalancing, they clearly want Nidoking to be a physical attacker but don't want to nerf its sp.atk to buff its attack or else they'll anger all the special sheer force users.

Some Pokemon are meant to be better than others for gameplay purposes.

But we already have a medium where every Pokemon is equal since they aren't held back by game mechanics.

personally I don't think all evolved pokemon should be viable at every level, but tiers are obviously a corrective measure to offset that imbalance, not the norm off which the imbalance is based.

It's not about battle, the battles are about training, the purpose of which is not to grow stronger, but to forge closer bonds with mons you've caught.

Because even if they go out of there way to buff and nerf every pokemon to the perfect level so each and every pokemon is usable.
They would always devolve into which number gives the best results.
Like it or not competative pokemon isn't about playing with your "Bros" it's about using the best pokemon for the job.

Plus that would mean every gen they would need to give the new pokemon a movepool equal to 7 generations of move tutors etc. and that's just not going to happen.
