>>38494329Just putting my thoughts here. They're not necessarily disagreements or agreements. I'll try not comparing it with other generations but look at the game itself.
>good musicActually curious about this. A lot of people here seem to like DPP music, but I personally don't. They sound very watered out and rather dull to me and often even bored me. Other games often had more vibrant music, so was the musical theme of Sinnoh just meant to be dull? I guess Snowpoint was okay, but most of the other music, I just cannot get around to like.
>competitiveI think this game had a focus on competitive Pokemon and connection around the world with the introduction of Wifi and GTS. A lot of old Pokemon evolved and it seemed to try to improve the potential of many Pokemon such as phys/spec split and competitive items and legendaries being basically gods of sorts.
>storyI don't think the story was great to be honest. It had nice lore with the region and such, but the characters were just boring or one dimensional. Everyone just falls for Cynthia because she's shilled and has strong Pokemon but her character was very one dimensional and I just ended up not liking her at all.
>gameplayPlatinum really did improve a lot on the gameplay so much that you would never go back to the much slower DP after playing Platinum. It had a nice adventure field, but the slow music and the dull characters just made things feel slow. I think it had the right ideas and even had some semblance of a postgame unlike modern games but this was a mixed bag for me overall. I do have fond memories playing them and I think I replayed them over ten times even now without getting too sick of it, but they're not the best nor even that great of a game.
