>>38494901>Most physical sweepers become dead weight when burned whereas Freeze can (if you're lucky) wear off the very same turnA. Freeze is detrimental to all Pokemon, not just physical attackers. Not even being able to use any move at all is also worse than having half attack too.
B. The chance of thawing out without the right move is 20%, which is already less than being burned by Scald.
C. Like Scald, this move is spammable and you would need to get multiple first turn thaws
D. Unlike Burns, you can’t use Guts, Facade, Quick Feet, and if your Cleric is frozen, you also can’t use Heal Bell
>On top of that, you actually CAN switch in an Ice type, because they aren't weak to Water.>What is Clefable, Alakazam, Reuniclus, Both Charizard Mega, Heatran, and literally anything that doesn’t care about minor damage each turnYou seem to think that EVERYthing is automatically ruined when they get burned. Ironic since you’re the one defending Freeze, the status condition that can easily take your entire team out for the entire match. Even sleep has a limit, and good sleep inducing moves are uncommon.
Also, being forced to carry Ice types and constantly having sun up, is far more centeralizing than having heal bell, lum berries, or simply not having your Physical Attacker on bulky water types.
>>38494919Yes. Did you even play Gen 7? Walls aren’t as afraid of being burned as they were in Gen 5, where weather wars were still a thing.
The amount of Pokemon that wouldn’t mind burns far outweighs how many Pokemon would mind being frozen.
