I’d say both of those ideas have about as much chance as any other idea that’s been floated since the reveal. Nobody has any fucking clue what GF is thinking, muh patterns mean absolutely nothing.

Personally I’m hoping for another assassin looking water type because Greninja wasn’t quite my style.

Why would a chameleon turn into a mosasaur/pliosaur? Starter designs seem to really keep mobility in mind, so a heavily aquatic-based design seems counterintuitive.

They probably don't want to confuse the marketing with detective Pikachu stuff so I would probably expect news the week after next week to try and immediately draw attention to upcoming pokemon games after the movie increases brand visibility

Delphox-Primarina-Grookey 3 feminine

Chesnaught-Incineroar-Sobble 3 tank

Greninja-Decidueye-Scorbunny 3 cool

You can go back from there with the past gens.
