I disagree with your post
>I played a lot of Gen IIISame here. With hacks included and even without, I've beaten/played through Hoenn the most
>but it really hasn't aged wellFireRed/LeafGreen hasn't aged well, but I think RSE has aged quite well. The region design is phenomenal (and I think the "too much water" is a dumb meme spouted only by ignoramuses who ignore the surprisingly great amount of content on the water routes), the Pokemon designs were great, the balance was pretty tight all things considered, everyone loves all three starters, the graphics and presentation are fresh, the performance is rock solid, the story was pretty compelling while also not taking too much away from the adventure. I could go on.
>Also really disliked Gen V. Bad combo of no previous gen Pokemon and a Dex that had almost no interesting Pokemon until super late.Same but I completely disagree that the problem was no old mons, and I dislike how that's become a talking point for Unova defenders.
For me, the design philosophy was just a fall from the older generations. The artstyle was too simplistic, skimping out on details, and the creature designs lacked the imagination and creativity of, for example, Kanto.
>Plus the battle animations were an eyesore.Agree. It also made the Pokemon's battle poses worse because the sprites tried to be this mix between static and presentable like the older games, but also have a tinge of flair which was possible when sending Pokemon out in Emerald onward---instead, it just means everyone is stuck in bland poses with rushed art and no interesting movements.
