After Whitney I caught a sudowoodo that only got one level up before being crit by a random trainer. Vs Morty Flaffy pulled through after being mean looked in by Gengar she survived with 11hp and finished him of after we got luckily and he got fully paralyzed, the rest of his team was no problem to take out as always. I caught a Miltank but it's thick fat not scrappy so I wasn't able to use it for the gym. Surfed out to Olivine and swiftly beat Chuck with aerial ace from Heracross. Flying around the region to pick up some items and explore the new areas that we have with most of the HM moves avaiable before I head up to the lake of rage to foil team rockets plan for the 100th time.

Bayleef is literally the only starter capable of soloing Whitney's Miltank. The combo of high defense, Reflect, Poison Powder, Rollout resist, Razor Leaf, and Synthesis is pretty fucking potent.

It is possible to solo Miltank with the other two but it is much more reliant on rng and less consistent than using Bayleef. Quilava can spam smokescreen and leer and Croconaw can build rage when the Clefairy uses doubleslap.

So I started my first ever Nuzlocke in Black 2. My first partner is a female Oshawott, who is named Pudding. My next parter from the first route was female Purrloin who I had named, Kiwi but she died not soon after from a random crit ;-;

My 3rd partner is a Patrat, whom I named Pie. I have not used her much. In Floccesy I met my Acemon, Riolu. On a whim I had named him Mango. Mango has carried me single handedly so far, currently being level 16, 6 levels above Pudding. I have been playing very risky with Mango, but using Counter strategies as opposed to just using Quick Attack. My first Gym Badge was done solo by Mango. I had got a crit Quick Attack on Cheren's Patrat, so that was the easy part. Mango was still hurt when he sent out Lillipup, but I had used Quick Attack to test damage. I forgot he did Work Up after he used Tackle, so my first Counter was a whiff and so was my 2nd. I was nervous Mango would die from Lillipups +2... But he pulled it off with just 5 HP, and ate his berry into delivering a OHKO on him. It felt amazing! I have not used Riolu much before, but relying on him is making me appreciate him a lot more than I ever have. I'm currently in Virbank City, I went down to the Plant to get my next partner. A Magby, and I have named her Paprika. She nearly killed Pudding, but we managed to recruit her safely! Doing this Nuzlocke has made me play differently than I ever would have before. I'm using my Potions only when I can get the most out of them, I'm thinking about when I should make my stops to the Pokemon Center and most importantly I'm thinking about what moves I should keep for future use, like keeping Foresight on Mango for Ghosties. I'm really enjoying my first Nuzlocke, and I'm glad I chose the right name for my Riolu. He really is like the Smash God, Mang0. Reckless and full of confidence, don't sleep on the kid!

Yes, I am using the Pokemon Center Clause. Only 1 use per Center, and I'm highly enjoying it!

So I've defeated Erika. Lost two crucial team members along the way (also a newly-caught Voltorb) which is disappointing, but at least I caught a Vulpix and a Doduo as replacements. I'm about to take on the Team Rocket hideout in the game corner, so that should be a good opportunity to get Printhead up to par with the rest of the team.

What does the tier list mean by the "breakability" of the game?

If you catch a psychic type in Red congrats, you've broken the game. Breakability just refers to how easy you can use the mechanics of the game to give you an advantage such as abusing the speed stat in gen I or being able to skip parts of the game to quickly progress and/or gain experience

Red anon here, feel like I've gotten over a difficulty curve. Used repel to get a high-level dugtrio that's steamrolling everything, along with my wartortle.
I feel bad because I'm neglecting the shitmons, but they're so flimsy that even after grinding they can still be one-shotted by any lucky crit- the time it takes to fight a dozen wild pidgeys doesn't feel worthwhile.

Fairly major update here. I went on a fishing spree, and it's pretty safe to say that I won't be lacking a water-type team member for the rest of this run. I decided to use Cloyster for no real reason other than the fact that it's a cool mon. I also caught a Rhyhorn in the Safari Zone, who I've decided to use in place of Ferg. It's been worthwhile so far, with the use of Earthquake I was able to pretty easily get through Koga's gym. As for everyone else on the team, I've trained them up by going through all the trainers I hadn't already fought, especially those around Fuchsia City. Printhead has been doing well so far, and it's very nice to have finally evolved Ralph now that he knows Flamethrower.

Naming scheme is after genera of fish present in the Polynesian triangle; you may notice they're not all genera in Perciformes either. This update comes from right after I butt-fucked the Aqua Grunt in Petalburg Woods.

Did a wee bit of grinding before taking on the Saffron City gym. Sadly I lost Printhead in the process, quite unfortunate as I imagine he would've been useful against the psychic-types. The gym was pretty easy regardless. Once I reached Cinnabar Island, I revived the Old Amber into Aerodactyl. I've been somewhat hesitant to train him seeing as I already have a rock-type in the form of Lemmy, and I like to avoid having team members with the same type. I'll probably get Hoss up to scratch with the rest of the team while I'm grinding pre-E4. Anyway, Blaine's gym was a piece of cake, and I'm guessing the same will be said for Giovanni when the time comes.

Easiest fight, clean sweep without any casualties due to good coverage on my end. The gigalith was a bit scary though.

Got a bit of a scare with pallosand but switched in dhelmise who took care of it. Sadly it seems her Dhelmise was both faster and stronger as she killed mine.

Toxic stalled most of her team. But for some reason her oriciorio got a crit revelation dance in and killed my dugtrio. I would've used marowak but it was low on health due to tanking a bravebird.

marowak murders raichu, but i wasnt aware tauros had earthquake and it dies to tauros. Hawlucha kills tauros and crabominable as an answer. And the rest of her team is toxic stalled with Toxapex's recover and toxic.

Only 2 survivors on my last run. But the autismlocke is now finished. Im gonna be drawing a tribute to this run. And thanks for sticking with me and giving me advice trough it all people. Good luck on your runs guys.

Well I took a bit of a breather, then got back to grinding up the rest of my team. I eventually decided I'd go with Snover instead of Sneasel this time around - now I've got Defensor the Abomasnow (changed her name from "Blaster"). Spent probably more time than I should have wracking my brain over movesets and the like, but eventually got fed up with indecision so the lists you see now are what I eventually settled on. Hopefully with how more well-rounded things are now we'll manage to avoid the pitfalls my Diamond team did and will make for an easier playthrough, but somehow I doubt it. Now is the time. Roll out!

Grabbed a Pinsir from the Bug Catching contest but didn't even make the top 3, not sure how it's scored but a fucking CATERPIE came in 3rd.
Pretty sure the Pokeathalon is more fun than the actual game.

Gastly took a crit Astonish from a wild Stantler, but I caught that Stantler and it took his place. It's a doggy dog world.

I like Johto so far, it's pretty comfy and probably the best looking game. I would like to see more actual Johto Pokemon though, feels like I'm just playing Kantoooo 2 atm

And we did it! Not without losses, but still much better than previously. Rodimus definitely came away from this as the MVP. I ought to have switched out Perceptor before that last hit having already been damaged, that was the one significant KO during this League challenge. (Sorry Defensor, you were kinda just there to fill a slot for mainly one match.) However, came away from this lot better than I had expected to. Still, with how much I hear about Platinum, I wonder if this was my easy Sinnoh run?

Absolutely seething because my second-best (a Vileplume) got 1shotted from full health by some Hypno’s crit psychic in the Silph co building.
At this point my Blastoise is taking care of everything while I attempt to get my Arcanine up to par. All I have left is a Pidgeot and Kabutops, neither of which are particularly good compared to the Blastoise.
Hoping the elite 4 don’t punish me for putting all my eggs in one basket. I know bulldozing everything with your overleveled starter is exactly the kind of gameplay nuzlocke is trying to prevent, but I just can’t take much more grinding.

Will probably try Crystal next since it’s apparently harder and I have much less experience with it.

Just got done making a Fire Red status update screen, and wouldn't you know it, I die at the first Blue fight.
First wipe in my full series locke.
His Charmander scored something like 5 crits, I couldn't beat it even with the Potion. Poor Buddy was doomed from the start.

I only start counting route encounters once I get pokeballs, but I usually consider the first rival fight part of the Nuzlocke, since you should be able to win it no matter what with the Potion.

Rock Tunnel was a bitch. Everything was going swimmingly until we encountered one particular fucking hiker, who murdered not one but two of my precious children. Rip Monky Kong and Douglas, you will be missed. Not gonna lie this was the most devastating loss so far, considering how much time i spent training those bois.

I've had to replace them with two absolute jabronis from the PC, hopefully Boombox and Dwayne earn their keep.

Alright lads, this is gonna be my first nuzlocke attempt on a real game cartridge, not an emulator.
This is the first time im playing something related to gen 2, although I do have the physical game guide cause i copped it during middle school bookfair when it was fresh.

QuickShot got hit by 2 vinewhip crits in a row, and a wild Rattata got the download on Chris and he got crit thrice while trying to level up.

Somehow managed to cheese through Falkner's lvl 13 Pidgeoto by having FlowerNigga swap in just as poison was ticking down on his pidgey. Then poison powedered the Pidgeoto and swapped in UA, fuck roost, i had to use 3 potions and almost died to a gust crit.

Gentle Beedrill is a pretty nice pickup, it has no physical bulk anyway, but this way it can actually fight special mons. Would be interesting to bring a Beedrill to the league, but we'll see if that'll actually happen or I'll drop it later.

Blew threw the Team Rocket hideout even though we had a few close calls with all the exploding Koffing around every corner. Two badges in and yeah, already off to a rough start. Though it's hard to tell if it's because of an increase in difficulty, or just poor luck on my part. Lost Borealis to one of the Galactic Grunt's Skunky out by the Meadow. Then, after I'd made it to Eterna City, Trivium was killed by a Scientist's Kadabra. And Stratovari was taken out while I was trying to fend off Jupiter's deadly Skuntank, so at least that sort of fit.

Overall, team has been fluctuating a lot more, even among all of the deaths. I kind of find myself swapping in and out pretty regular trying to work out what will be useful down the road. When I still had Stratovari, I taught Thief to her and went out hunting Bronzors hoping I'd get lucky and steal a Metal Coat off one of them. I did and evolved Heavy Load. Not that Steelix's are especially great, but I like having a big physical wall and who knows? Big guy might come in handy.

Anyway, also caught the Rotom hiding in the Old Chateau and got the Togepi egg from Cynthia just after I got my new bike. Our journey continues!

You're too vulnerable to random fucking Fire coverage should your Klink come aboard. Its movepool is also sorely lacking--your only decent options will be Wild Charge, Thunder, Return, and Gear Grind/Iron Head. First time trying a randomized run of any sorts. Looks like it'll be more tense all the way through than a regular Nuzlocke run since I won't know when I'm going to run into a Youngster with a legendary.

Had a choice between Turtwig, Vanillite, and Igglybuff. I took the Vanillite, Bianca got the Turtwig, and Cheren the Igglybuff. The team's not too bad so far but these three will be a long term investment since I've already had to face fully evolved Pokemon so far.

I'm getting the feeling that every update is gonna involve a party shake-up. The egg hatched into Omen the Togepi, (shame she doesn't have Serene Grace), so spent some time leveling her after having given her the Soothe Bell to play with. While searching in the hidden area of Wayward Cave I ran into a wild Gible, but I lost Epica in the process of capturing it. Named him "Slayer" to serve as a reminder. Cress's Hitmonchan got pretty close to wiping me but surprisingly Mei helped pull the team through. Didn't grab one of the elemental monkeys so that I could hopefully get something more useful in the Dreamyard which worked out. Thought I got pretty lucky with the Deino until I realized there were wild Zekroms roaming the area. Also had a laugh when the Plasma grunt kicking the Munna ended up having a Musharna.

Just made it to Nacrene City and will probably catch a new team member in the outside area of Pinwheel forest since I have no clue what's inside it. Also debating whether to turn in the Claw Fossil I found or wait and see if I can find another fossil somewhere else.

Making my way towards Hearthhome I got lucky enough and encountered a Ralts. Then trained up most of the team to about level 30 or so. Came away from the gym match pretty well with no losses - Edguy managed to one-shot Duskull with Ominous Wind, Amaranthe held her own against Mismagius, and HammerFall put down Haunter while Omen provided an effective defensive blocker and status staller. BigGuy4You here, Sun is done. Had a pretty weird team by the end of it. This was the first time I have ever used an In-Game-Trade Pokemon in Poliwrath, as I needed a Water type that wasn't trash after Primarina died. Overall an easyish run. Z-Moves killed 3 mons in the early game and Trials could be hard when it didn't have solid type coverage to counter them

SUGGESTION TIME: I am now One Lap complete in the Full-Series Nuzlocke. I will now go do Blue/Silver/Sapphire...cont. with adding the one of each remake. I wonder how many Nuzlockes have ended to Ghetsis. Krookodile was one shotted by Focus Blast, Whimsicott was one shotted by Fire Blast, and then I had to heal my Gothitelle every turn to get him to Struggle to death. Then I died to Wild Charge on Swanna and crit Head Charge on Gothitelle. The last two died before the battle but they fully heal your Pokemon before and after the N fight.
He has to be one of the hardest fights in the series, if not the hardest. I got done Nuzlockeing Platinum recently and Cynthia didn't give me nearly as much trouble.

Pre-Gym team shot. Was nervous about proceeding on without getting properly prepared. I'm sure most of the unit can handle Wake's party, but that Floatzel has me worried. Ice Fang for HammerFall and Omen, Crunch for Edguy and Amaranthe, and knowing Floatzel's speed I was sure that I wouldn't be coming out without some casualties. So I spent time today leveling up a Croagunk I caught on Route 212. Spent some shards at the Move Tutor to teach it Thunder Punch. So now I've got something a back-up plan in case. I'll likely level it up while going through the gym and have it as a Toxicroak by the time we get to Crasher Wake, so we hopefully should be good.
