i gave them the benefit of the doubt w/r/t the Gen 1 data but their rollout was shit and i didnt bother to argue for its legitimacy in betaargument threads because i thought they shot themselves in the foot
where we stand right now is that they're credible and will continue to be, but we're gonna have to take everything they put forward with a grain of salt until we see they're gonna return to spaceworld-style forwardness
which is unfortunately unlikely. don't forget they had originally intended to do something deliberately obscure with spaceworld until someone in their group leaked it on /vp/ way ahead of when they'd wanted to put it out there
racieb aside, i dont think they're exactly attentionwhores. i follow the helixchamber blogspot or whatever and still have no idea what the name of all the group members are, so credit to them there for putting the data first and not their egos. but they do have a weird mindset about how to present (re:'massage') the data that is a bit weird
i'll give them credit, though. they can 100% accept credit for being responsible for the famitsu article coming out at all. the tajiri book was not mean to be a tell-all expose of the gen 1 beta, but a completely incidental 'bonus' to help push sales of the book a bit more
i dont think they ever intended to release any of this information. that we're getting any of this at all is thanks to them
(we will never get any new gen 2 data tho. dont forget nintendo is a japanese company and nips have a very weird corporate culture. the development of gen 2 was clearly painful and they dont like the commoners knowing about it. 100% the spaceworld leak pissed them off, and this article is more to draw attention away from spaceworld than it is to support the gen 1 leak)
