>>38518466>this shit really grinds my gears since i feel like at least a fair few of "buff a shitmon"/"fix the meta" posters love to complain about shit like lando-t, toxapex, kartana etc. but if any of their favorites got that kind of viability they'd be claiming gamefreak saved the metaIt happened with some waifumons, remember how mega Absol was hailed as the second coming of christ while they cried that Mega Garchomp was too much, a mega that arguably is worse than its base is somehow too much because it's total stats are better.
I remember those days.
>>38518468Let me tell you that shit like this not only slows a game and forces bigger loading stress on a console, SM actually heats your DS a bit more than other games.
This space that was used for tiles and textures could have been optimized with more content, this also consumes time for the coders wich means less time developing the game.
Finally, did you know that for cutscenes the games fucking redraw the area you are in instead of coding movement or using the same resources you already loaded? Then when the cutscene end we are warped back to the zone we just exited to load and play a cutscene and have to load it again before we resume playing. How many fucking cutscenes do you think we have in this generation?
Listen man, open world by itself almost always end in a disaster with more space wasted than content or just as a bunch of repeated task cluttering a map, then we have Gamefreak idea of balance that gave us GS horrible leveling curve wich wasn't fixed in HGSS.
I can't trust Gamefreak at all with this bullshit, any attempt to pretend that OPEN WORLD is a good idea is just retarded beyond belief.
