Why do people care so much if Ash's Pokemon evolve? Nobody complained with Bulbasaur and Squirtle. Besides, anime logic dictates that evolution doesn't mean shit so long as the Pokemon is well-trained. You also gotta think about publicity: Rowlet won't evolve because it is a fan-favorite already.
Do you guys start bouncing and clapping when one of his Pokemon evolves? It's cool, but it's not a necessary thing to happen.
