I wish they had the anime’s tap on the center to enlarge the ball feature, it was weird as fuck watching that dude pull out a small watermelon sized object and hand it to Tim. Also they fucked up the design a bit with the glowing rim instead of the sleek black border

but this ISN'T us, and it ISN'T our technology. The Humans in the Pokémon world have technology so advanced that it may as well be magic. Nanotech, Digitizing Matter, Healing Machines, Teleporters, Shrink Rays.
It even goes back to ancient civilisations having super tech.

They could have just kept it a normal pokeball design and we would have been like "yes, it's supertech"
