Compare to, say, those $180 gym badge sets from
PokemonCenter.com, for example. Despite seeming insane, they are actually pretty normally priced, given a combination of the metal, the paint-job, the 3D factor, and the framing (which, itself, is a racket, as anyone who has ordered frames can tell you). If I were to commission badges 3D-printed out of the same material, have them painted, and then have them framed, it would actually cost me more than the retail $180, so I'd actually be surprised if Pokémon was actually profiting that much, net-wise, on those sets. It's a fact that they make far, far more for every Figma figure or plushie they sell.
