Gym leaders and the Elite Four were insane madmen, and some were brutal and had their Pokémon attack the actual trainer (like Lt. Surge), there was all kinds of corruption within the gym leader ranks, the badges were like the most valuable thing in the region because you could use them to control any high-level Pokémon, it was schemes and plots and all kinds of crazy shit happening all the time and it was incredible.
And Green hid pokeballs in her bra and used a Ditto for disguise. And Poliwrath shot ice beam out of his hand like Iron Man, and Green could use her Clefairy to fly around like a hot air balloon, and Oak showed up in a dominatrix mask at the Pokémon league and kicked ass with a fucking Spearow.
Shit was off the chain, the rest of it I can take or leave though, gold was OK.
