depends on what weakness
some types are not seen commonly, some are near-universal
like if it's weak to Electric or Dark, probably somewhat okay, but if it's weak to Water or Ground, not so much.

This is a really cheesy answer but honestly I just use Pokemon whose designs I like. I mean I always try to have a balanced array of types but I don't think about how many weaknesses a Pokemon has.
