>>38539410Listen, cousin. The games didn't feel like much of an adventure of their own, but rather the adventure of some annoying brat that wouldn't leave you alone. Let's go outside and talk more.
>two minute cutscene of me walking to the door and you following. When I finally get there, there's no animation. The screen just fades to black and you hear Cave_exit_sound.wav.Cousin, did you know that you're from Kanto by the way? Yeah, you moved here from KANTO! That's so kanto! Did you know KANTO pokemon have special forms here? What's that, cousin? You want to start on your adventure? Uhh
>Cutscene of me just looking out to the sea for three minutes.Okay cousin, let's get started! You can get your starter over that way. Don't worry if you go the wrong way in search of any early items or sight seeing, I'll force you back on the rail with an iron grip. There's a gate up ahead though, but a pointless and barely animated one minute cutscene will fix that when you get there. There will be plenty more gates and cutscenes to keep you from feeling immersed afterwords too. Oh look! Lillie is coming to pester you! I better leave you be for the five minute cutscene she's about to start and the several minutes of mashing dialogue to come afterwords.
>Screen fades to black because animation is too expensive, but the game loves cutscenes.
