The concept of the original detective pikachu is the investigation and solving problems and riddles, in this film there is basically nothing, they had everything already done for them

This is true, but you have to keep in mind that this isn't a mystery movie, it's just entertainment for kids, so they can't make something like what the game was, and instead have to scrap most of it to make it entertaining.
That's what makes this a good vidya gaem movie desu.
