Detective Pikachu did something interesting by making Mewtwo's
main telepathic voice two separate actors, both male and female. Not only does it add to the "effect" but gives more to the idea of how the "legendary" pokemon are perceived as "gender less" (which sounds SJW as fuck to talk about now n' days, but at least this is just concerning a fucking fictional mutant clone of the "fetus of all pokemon" )
That said however, Mewtwo's deep man voice will most likely still be far more iconic for people, especially since the "3D remake" of Mewtwo Strikes Back is coming out this year.
