it had a little gen1 pandering, but let's be honest. it needed it to be successful. most normies going to this movie would've expected to see some of their childhood favorites such as the starters, snorlax, eevee, etc. but they def made up for it by including a TON of random af pokes like loudred, rufflet and br aviary, etc.

Honestly if they turn this in a cinematic universe I'd be all about it, it seems like the perfect stepping stone IMO
