>>38550358What Dawn really has going for her is she balances girly with badass without going to either extreme. Even though Dawn is girly she isn't just this extremely feminine timid princess character, she's also very outgoing, has a bit of a temper, likes to battle, jumps into danger, etc.
Dawn's type of personality kinda vanished with anime characters since, and now the writers just have girls to either extreme of whatever character trope they're based on.
