Agreed, I kind of hope that in DP2 Harry gets turned into a Pikachu again. I also kinda wished Ash just stayed a Pikachu for a couple of episodes rather than just wrapping that plot up in like 10 minutes.

I don't DP2 is actually going be a direct sequel, that story wrapped up pretty well and I think extending would feel artificial. I think we're more looking at another live action movie set in the same continuity and perhaps in Ryme City at the most.

We don't know what "Detective Pikachu 2" is gonna be about at all or that it's gonna be called that. The confirmation was that we're getting a sequel, which could easily mean just another Legendary-produced live action Pokemon movie rather anything directly tied in.

My point is that the "DP sequel" movie is likely to not actually be a sequel in the sense that it continues with the story of Tim and Harry and his Pikachu, it's just a sequel in the sense that's it another live action Pokemon movie made by Legendary Pictures.

I hope so, DP's story is done, Reynolds was funny as Pikachu but having Tim's dad act like Pikachu-Reynolds would ruin everything the movie did right. They just need another talking pokemon with Reynolds voice.

it is a direct sequel, they're making other movies for the franchise, WB wants this to be their marvel cinematic universe since they failed with DC.
