>>38568337I feel a lot of this complain comes from the idea that your team has to be a certain level for the E4. I had to spend hours grinding pre E4 as a kid in GSC everytime, because I always made sure my entire team of 6 was level 47.
But it's not necessary, moreso for experienced players. I just played emerald for the first time and went into the E4 with a team that was mostly level 42-43, except for one level 48. Steven caps out at 58, as opposed to GSC's 50, so being even more than 10 levels behind is completely doable when you have basic strategy (type advantages). I didn't even have to use items until Drake, and even then I think I used 2-3 full restores per battle.
A better level curve would make GSC better, but you don't have to grind if you have a balanced team.
