So I'm sitting minding my own damn business when it hits me; Ziggy-No Game's two signature moves are Thousand Waves and Thousand Arrows.
Yeah, so what right? But Consider the following;
In Gen 7, Sun and Moon, the legendary trio is know as the "Light Trio".
Gen 8 is titled Sword and Shield which possibly means that the legendary trio could be know as the "Weapon/Armory Trio"
Now for those of you that haven't put 1 and 2 together:
Light occurs in WAVES
Arrows are a type of WEAPON

Galar threatens Kalos ecosystem with stupid shit that's going in the game. Zygarde shows up to Core Enforce the living fuck out of the area because everyone's being a little shit.

There's crap that implies a connection with Kalos and Galar but that's all that is: implication. We don't know shit, and it's Game Freak we're talking about.

Really at the most (so far) the Sun/Moon and Sword and Shield were on Game Freak's minds all they way back then and that they probably intended to tie Zygarde in some how.

Here's the thing: They started Zygarde's shit but at the same time they wanted to push out Gen 7 to tie in with the franchise's 20th anniversary which is why Zygarde collecting was pushed further ahead.

Galar is based on the UK and Kalos with France, so a connection is implied because of their real world counterparts. Eternal Floette got an update in animation and description in S/M/US/UM and Melmetal supposedly got erased off of the face of the Earth 3000 years ago, when AZ had his weapon nuke something during the Kalos War and suddenly it appears again thanks to Meltan. Again, there's implications but knowing how Game Freak is, it's not anything actually planned. If it is planned and they pull it off, then good for them.

I'm just going to say it; I think Zygarde has some connection to the creation trio. And even outside my own thoughts, it's quite clear from the lore within the games and anime that Zygarde is a major deal in terms a being a legendary. I mean it's literally the guardian of the planet (and yes I can say planet because its pokedex went from Kalos Ecosystem to Ecosystem in general in gen 7). Point is that I while do question Game Freak's competence quite often, I don't believe for a second that they ran out time with Zygarde and are trying sweep it under the rug. I think it's getting the Mewtwo treatment where it may not have its own game(s) but will have it's time to shine (probably in the gen 4 remakes which goes back to what I said about the creation trio). More importantly my OP is pointing how we straight up got two hints for two generations. Is proof that Zygarde is still in play, maybe, maybe not. But I wouldn't shrug at it.
