Making friends in real life is wasted effort. Most of the time they'll either be complete NPCs who can't understand anything beyond liberal media consumption and social standing, or they'll be a complete normalfag with no interests beyond the most popular content like Game of Thrones or Avengers or whatever the most popular thing of the current month is.

Just stick to being online. No one needs to filter themselves and most of the undesireables get weeded out and shoved to reddit and twitter.
