The directors of detective pikachu said in a podcast that they had a garbodor scene in mind and "really wanted" to see live action garbodor but it got cut. Shame, I could imagine it being a fun scene emphasizing that not all pokemon are just cute shit and maybe tying into how the main character didn't want a pokemon partner.
