>>38590674When you switch normally, you do so without knowing for sure what your opponent will do, and the Pokemon that's switching in takes the hit since switching comes before attacks. With a slow U-turn, you already know what your opponent's done and if they attacked they've just hit your slow tank, so you're free to switch into whatever mon punishes them the hardest. For example:
>you have Magearna out vs Hydreigon>you want to get Weavile in since they have bad Ice resists,>if you hard switch into Weavile, they might switch into something that beats it 1v1, hit you with U-turn, or outright kill you with an attack>if you click Volt Switch as they switch or U-turn, you get to bring out whatever Pokemon has the best matchup>if they stay in and attack as you Volt Switch, your tank takes the hit and you get to bring in Weavile for freeRight now Chansey is stupidly bulky, but is also fairly punishable and doesn't really advance your gameplan if you're not playing stall. However, if it gets LGPE Teleport then it can leverage its huge bulk to give the rest of your team a ton of free switches.
