Don't forget that Lum berry they gave it in the remakes. Or the fact that all the wild pokemon in the surrounding routes just happen to be flying, poison, bug, and/or psychic meaning if you defeated all the trainers then picked up said Machop your still screwed.

not that anon but, Clefairy is pure fairy type so if Whitney stays as a normal type gym replacing it with Jigglypuff who's part normal would make sense.

Kanto to Kalos are all fine. Alola dropped the ball by making every dungeon a straight line except Haina Desert, Shady House, Vast Poni Canyon and Team Rocket's Castle.
