There are simple designs that are good (such as Rhydon) but still have characteristics that make me think "yea, someone actually put time into that" it's pre-evolutions also have the same issue (Gastly is literally a ball and Haunter is literally a ball with floating hands)

Gengar is the go to choice for a hipster who wants to act like he knows about Pokemon, but is just one teensy little step beyond saying "Charizard is my favorite Pokemon." No. That's not good enough for these attention thirsty whores, they have to go a little further forward and say "heh, yea. I love Gengar. He's my favorite. Just a funny prankster, just like me" Also Gengarfags are the type of people who think their jokes are funny when they're not.
