This. Now we just need abilities that activate these on switch-in.
I feel like the items specific to evolving Pokemon should have (or repurposed to have) a secondary boosting effect in battle, similar to Deep Sea Tooth for Clamperl. For example, Up-Grade could maybe boost the Porygon line's attacking stats by 1.5x whereas Dubious Disk boosts its speed by 2x in exchange for a defense drop.

Item that, at half health sharply boosts all stats, regains half heath, and skips their next turn (ala Hyper Beam, Burasto Baan, etc), but can only be activated by Pokemon with Klutz.

A held item that disables the Pokemon's ability while they have it. However, abilities that can't be negated or swapped by other effects (e.g. Multitype, Schooling, Stance Change) are unaffected. The time of Slaking, Archeops, and Regigigas has come.

Sun Necklace.
Gives Espeon a SpA and a Speed boost during daylight.
And Another counter for Umbreon that focuses on Def and SpD instead.

Silph Scope
Allows Normal type moves to hit Ghost type Pokemon. Also prevents loss of Accuracy

Cherish Berry
A baby Pokemon produced by either parent that consumes this item will inherit all of it's parent's EVs. Also slightly increases the chance of the baby being born shiney

Ninja Garb
Raises the Pokemons evasion based on it's Speed stat (max +3 Evasion)

Gluttons Robe
Restores HP at the end of the turn based on max HP (low max HP Pokemon would restore less than Leftovers, high max HP Pokemon would restore more than Leftovers)

Not Effective moves deal 25% more damage to the wearer. The first time a move would deal Super Effective damage, that damage is healed instead

Powder moves gain +10 Accuracy

Dirty Bong
Powder moves will apply a Status other than the one it is supposed to
