You mean worse because it was "literally my mom's revolver/tank"
At least with the remoraid/octillery they keep the wepon motif while being way more subtle about it and not in your face while still looking like a monster.

Also look at their level up pool. They learn all the beam, bomb, shot, and bullet moves. Plus Remoraid is the only non evolved pokemon (that was never fully evolved a one point) that learns Hyper Beam.

At least the beta one played up the tank/artillery theme. In the one we got, you wouldn't realize it unless you looked at Remoraid. It can't stand on its own merits.

remoraid used to be an actual revolver
octillery used to be an actual tank
the designs were scaled back, probably because of ESRB or CERO
the design is still there, but i wish they didnt scale it back so much
