What the fuck is Pokeflu? Anyway, while I was technically around at the time, I had only the vaguest idea of the series since I was introduced to it via Burger King toys in promotion for The First Movie. I vividly remember counting down the days until the home video release of the movie thanks to commercials that also counted down. Didn't actually end up seeing it at that point but I wanted to, and later got to see it because someone taped it off HBO or something for me to watch. Anyway, being born in 1994, I came around a little late for Pokemania and didn't get my first game until around 2000, and by the time I was in First Grade, not many other kids were into it as the fad had just barely missed us. So, I was 'around' at the time, but I have no idea what the hype was like because I didn't have any friends that cared about it and wasn't deep into Pokemon until it was already not that big a deal (2000-2001).
