Except they are. Their graphics were outdated by the time they came out, was bordering on unplayable due to all of the glitches and bugs, and was severely imbalanced.

I like Vanilite, but instead of slapping on cartoon eyes on a snowball, Turner should’ve used colorful pebbles to design the face, so that it would look like a mini snowman, and the colored pebbles would look like gumdrops.
Using pebbles would’ve made the design a little bit more natural looking.

Kanto is my favorite region, but I love a lot of Unova mons including the trashbags. My main problem with Unova is the shitty plot, but it is nowhere near as bad as Kalos or Aloha.
B&W is the last semi-decent Pokemon game.

This is Pokemon. The only games in the entire series that don't look like complete shit for the system they're on are the original Gameboy games, because the system was so limited that you just couldn't fuck it up that badly (and even then, the battle sprites usually looked nothing like the Pokemon they were trying to portray).
