Part of Unova clearly is Mexico/Arizona, but he also have Ancient Egypt and even China inspiration on Pokémon

If you ask me BW2 fixed a lot of the plotholes BW1 had. Like the nagging question of whether Team Plasma was in on Ghetsis's plans or whether they were all just as ignorant as N was. BW2 confirms that some of them genuinely believed in what they were doing and followed N in the sequel, while others knew what Ghetsis was doing and remained loyal to him. It's a cool bit of storytelling that adds depth to what would normally be a mediocre follow-up.

I really like in vidya when the last location before tackling the final challenge is calm and full of life as opposed to the usual somber and desolate last levels. It's a nice little rest before the end.
Even the gym remix is one of the most relaxing themes ever.

Also that fucking valley + best victory road combo holy fuck.

Starter powercreep was getting out of hand in Gen IV. They're all so good that it makes teambuilding trivial. I think dialing it back for Gen V was the right choice, with the larger dex there was more incentive to catch Pokemon instead of relying on your starter.
