Charizard (after evolving) at its most basic was a representation of the game mechanic where over leveled Pokémon were disobedient and would refuse to take orders. So, Charizard was disobedient. It then went in it’s own story arc rather than strictly adhering to the games badges system and ash had to earn Charizard’s respect as a trainer. It’s literally a show for children and you don’t understand it?

There were a few badges Ash flat-out got handed rather than earned, so it may be an element of that involved too (Charizard only started listening to Ash after his 3rd Orange Island badge earned, not sure what number of Kanto badges he was just given, but it may make sense in context).

I wish these elements were more important to the games

This is how "friendship" with Pikachu worked in the games. If you let Pikachu faint then his friendship stat would be dramatically reduced.

It's in reference to a game mechanic, it isn't literally tied to "levels" which don't exist in the anime you retard. Charmander became too powerful for Ash to handle after evolving, it's pretty simple and basic. Also, he had basically zero problems controlling Charmander before it evolved.

As I said, that Charmander was naturally a piece of shit and a weakling, that's why Damien didn't want it.
That Charizard was also a monlet, being the smallest and weakest Charizard in the Charizard valley and only got there by the help of Team Rocket.

Ash obtains the Marsh Badge in episode 24 of the anime. The marsh badge allows obedience up to level 70. Charmander evolves in episode 43, then evolves into Charizard in episode 46. Nice try though.

Most of the time in the anime 'high level' or 'leveling up' is just sort of a nebulous term as opposed to an actual quantifiable numeral denoting strength. So if you apply level-based game logic like "Charizard evolves at level 36 so that means by badge so and so Ash's Charizard should obey him" is just stupid. Levels don't work like that in the anime. My ultimate point here is clearly the 'disobedience since it's too strong for the trainer to control/it doesn't respect its trainer since it's stronger than what the trainer has proven to be able to handle' game mechanic and Ash's Charizard are too specific to not be a direct reference. That's all there is to Charizard, really, at least at the start. At some point, it was decided that Ash's Charmander would evolve and become so strong that it becomes disobedient like can happen in the games. After that, they made a story arc out of it. Seems pretty apparent to me that the idea behind this whole thing was referencing the game mechanic, though. Pretty much every other game mechanic is referenced at some point, so I don't see why obedience wouldn't be.

They said in the anime that Pokemon get a change of personality when they evolves when Ash and Misty were discussing Charizard's attitude.

They had zero mention directly or indirectly to game mechanics because that's not how the mechanics work.

The pokemon only disobey you if you overleveled it way too far and this gets fixed when you get badges.

Ash got 8 badges and Charizard was still an asshole. So they pretty much made it clear that it isn't related to your dumb reddit theory.
