Using any OU mon that learns their moves naturally sucks the fun out of the game in my opinion. They just steamroll trhough the entire game and make it even easier than it already is.
I used a Garchomp in X/Y which I considered alright because for some reason it doesn't even learn earthquake on its own and I didn't know where the TM was.

Generally, yes. Using Zekrom was fun against N, but every other legendary except for a small few feels cheaty. Gen 3 being the biggest offender, probably. When I was younger I did use Jirachi in HGSS as a party member, but I also used the Spiky Eared Pichu.

USM changed it so you can use them for the basic challenges.

You most likely have masterball at that point if you are going for it. It is out of way a bit but i think he's saying that rayquaza is easily the strongest mon to have at your disposal during the main adventure

yikes, besides, you need to take a long detour through water routes and the sky pillar wrecked floors just in hopes it's even there after you saw it fly earlier in the game. something you probably won't know unless you are playing with a walkthrough or know the game beforehand

Not really, the game establishes that's where Fug lives so of course he'd go back there. People are more likely to not know about Lati@s on their first run if anything. Besides Lati@s means nothing now since they're post game and newer gens exist. It's easier to get them in BW2, ORAS, or USM.

You go through both places during the story to do something else. Sky Pillar is far from the main path and you don't get sent there by anything. It doesnt take a genius to connect the dots, in fact all it takes its a bunch of kids because this is a game for kids

If you were making a case for the regis, yeah that one is guide only, but fug? I got it when i was 6 and i'm no fucking genius

i'm not saying you need to be a genius, just that you need to go out of your way to get him, without having full certainty it is going to be there. the game doesn't shove it in your face and doesn't force you to catch it, it even makes climbing the pillar a bit harder even, not to mention that by that point you already pretty much finished with the game

So are most legendaries, but you still get a good mileage of using Fug in emerald since its pre last gym, victory cave and E4

Anyone playing the game would feel compeled to explore that huge part of the map that you dont get sent to during the main quest. And anon i played emerald last month, the sky pillar isnt nowhere as "hard" as youre remembering it to be

the npc uses perfect iv, ev trained legendaries in the battle frontier long before you even reach the frontier brain gold symbols (which also use legendaries btw, including latios and latias)
