The whole concept of variations is neat when its a Pokemon being 'combined' with other Pokemon, but in this case it kind of isnt.

Neat but I wish they stuck to one animal, feels kind of lame to switch between a rabbit, a cat, a ferret/ermine, and an actual mouse just because Pikachu's physiology is somewhat ambiguous.

the most off putting part of those drawings isn't how different it is, but how differently drawn it is

because those chikoritas or OP's pikachus are definitely in the realm of 'variants' the likes we already find in kanto/alola desu
