movies based on franchises can still have plot, character, a message, artistic merit. Yes, a lot of franchise movies can be bad, but a lot can also be very good. Did you see shelves stocked with Latios and Latias in 2003? I didn't. So what was the purpose of making Pokémon Heroes at all? Your nihilistic lifeview only allows you to see it as a soulless cashgrab, but a lot of work and passion were put into franchise movies and many people enjoy them for the stories they have to tell. Besides, is it REALLY that much different between a few dollars for 90 minutes or $60 for a different but longer experience? Could a pokémon game not also be considered another advertisement for pokémon as a whole that you fell for and bought into?
