I’d like one focused around bug-fighting. You get a beetle towards the start of the game and talk to NPCs to get hints at where to hunt down better bugs. There would be mantids, scorpions, centipedes, beetles, and probably some others I’m not remembering at the moment.

How about..... Combatmon?

Combatmon can have between one and three typings.

Pyro, Aqua, Nature the three basic types.

Warrior, Magic, Genetic, Artificial, Beast, Cyber, Ancient, General, Virus, Antibody, Thunder, Strength, Undead, Parasite, Flight, Earth, Spirit and the rarest off them all Divine (only one Combatmon has that typing)

A meteor that would destroy the planet is on a crash course for Earth. The international community prepares a device that may or may not circumvent the Earth's demise. Right before the moment of Truth suddenly a few humans find themselves in labyrinth of demiplanes.

These travelers in a new world are able to summon monsters however summoners have there own stats determining how many monsters they can summon, how high of tier of monster they can summon, how many species and they can summon at once and how far apart their tiers can be etc.

Thunder would not cover Cyber, nor artificial.

Thunder covers the raw power of electricity, the natural Thunder and Lightning.

Warrior/Ancient/Thunder would be a Pantheon (Legendary) member based on Thor.

Artificial is more created in a lab, more human made, made to do a job, to be a weapon more, can be a combatmon they captured or clone or a chimera.

A virus can be used to effect Cyber and Artificial more.

Parasite can be used to effect everything else.

Cyber is the natural evolution of being near a factory or research facility for generations, being exposed to nanobots

they're basically the periodic table elements given life and depending on what you fuse them with you can unlock new ones or further evolve the ones you already have. the starter would be hydrogen or oxygen

I've been working on one that's like Digimon, but newer and better. The hardest part is trying to decide on a monster design philosophy, and secondary gameplay to collecting (battling/breeding)

There really isn't a point desu, let's say someone does manage to make an amazing 'mon series, no matter what it'll be compared to Pokemon, called a ripoff and sell poorly due to that backlash., It's why Medabots & DQM are dead in the west & Digimon would've been if there wasn't at least some percentage of people who actually cared.
