All of it stemming from Ice’s very poor defensive strengths and weaknesses, being weak to 3 very common offensive types, a decent offensive type in steel, a Stealth Rock weakness, and only resisting 1 type.
On top of this, the vast majority of Ice types are slow and defensive.
To further back this up, the highest ranked Ice type in Ubers is a suicide lead, Kyurem-W is C, Arceus-Ice is D, Kyurem-Black is currently the only Ice type in OU, and the only other Ice types viable in OU are situational or have aurora veil (which is still low anyways).
Reasonably, people want to fix the faults with the Ice typing. Namely its poor defensive utility, which gives no way to safely switch in.
But every thread eventually waterfags cry about Ice types getting buffed, since many of those buffs also nerf water.
They typically say “BUT ICE CUBES” and “ICE IS A GLASS CANNON TYPE ITS FINE AS IS”, giving absolutely nothing of value in these threads.
