>>38638103Less someone's control and more how it happens to be in the right place at the right time so many times in a row. It doesn't come up every time, but it suspends disbelief a little that what happened with Pheromosa and Buzzwole hasn't happened more frequently given how much screentime Bewear has, even in episodes where no battling was going on like Mallow's Cafe episode or filler episodes like the Hot Spring episode. It's already been established that it doesn't mind getting involved beyond grabbing team rocket. I also don't expect Bewear to suddenly go MIA, which could compound this further.
Even if, say, Happiny was used as frequently as Bewear, it's still a better take on the same joke since it's the lowest attack in the game producing more dramatic results than making an already physically strong pokemon ridiculously strong. Plus, as you said Bewear isn't under anyone's control, while Happiny would be as a member of Brock's team who's always in a pokeball on his person, meaning it being everywhere the group is sounds slightly more plausible. The same problem of just letting Happiny handle everything would still come up, but not to the same extent.
