It does have some decent gimmicks, I like the roulette mode where both players teams are placed on the wheel and you get what you land on ("Oh crap, the AI got my Lugia!"), but nothing worth buying a game for. The crapshoot is that maybe 60~70% of the game is balanced around those rentals, but the last battles are WAY too hard for them. So you cannot finish the game with what you are given, but you Gen 4 game teams smoke half of it. Those last battles are just what the doctor ordered for you Stadium fix, but the game's selling point was the online play and exchanging teams with other players.
