If you treated it with fungicides from the second it's born do you think you could stop it from being controlled by the fungus.

Why does everybody want to kill the mushroom? Paras would be fucking shit without it, just a boring bug. And they NEED each other, Paras needs the shrooms as much as we need Paras. They're stronger together so just LEAVE IT ALONE ok?

I would've liked to see an Alolan form that had the bugs move to a different climate where the fungus couldn't survive and instead the bugs become a parasite to other Pokemon instead. Just a real nasty little face-hugger thing that makes you wonder if the parasitic mushroom was really all that bad to be specifically targeting it. Maybe Bug/dark assassin bug?

It's explicitly stated in PSMD that Paras is in control and it views the mushrooms on it's back as friends. It's debatable whether or not that's because of the Mushrooms influence though. Parasect is explicitly the one in control after Paras evolves. But if Paras really did like the mushrooms it might be more of a symbiotic relationship.

Fungicide would work on any point in a Paras' life as long as you treat it before it evolves.

Bug poison.

The mushroom can't survive Paras toxic immune system.

Paras without the mushroom becomes fast hyper predator with parasect becoming a really fast and adaptable Pokémon with huge stamina making it a pursuit predator.
