I'm not so thrilled by going through Kanto for the hundredth time but otherwise it was a really solid game
once I got to mt moon I "got" it and started having really fun collecting pokemon and building a funny mono poison team

I think that right there is a huge factor in how much you'll enjoy the game, if you haven't played a Kanto game in a while, it's gonna be much more fun for you. Don't get me wrong, LGPE is not a 60 dollar game by any means but the core KANTOOOO experience is still solid enough and not everyone has run through it a million times.

There is literally no reason to charge 60 dollars for LGPE. There is no law saying that because it's a console game, it must be sold for 60 dollars.

Yeah, LGPE has a handful of neat features people don't seem to acknowledge very much. I also loved being able to rename your Pokemon on the spot anywhere, overworld mons instead of random battles, following mons with being to choose which mon follows instead of automatically your first one and riding your actual mons with no stupid safety gear.

there were a few cutscenes, SS Anne departing and legendary pokemon introductions off the top of my head, but they were all skipable
otherwise, gym leaders and NPCs do show up over the adventure, but their interactions are concise and interesting in my opinion
like, brock is part of the gate guard tea subquest, and makes him feel more like a real human that lives in this world

It's a fantastic game. The battling itself is easy but what pokemon game is challenging anymore? The catching is what Lets Go wants you to prioritize and its honestly more enjoyable than i ever expected it to be. Theres a greater variety of Pokemon you can catch thanks to size differences and having the pokemon spawn on the map cuts out alot of the needless tedium.

LGPE is just a mediocre cash grab, nobody should buy it, yet it still sold 10m, so probably the franchise will continue this shitty trend and nothing can stop it.

LGPE was fun and had a lot of good streamlined features that made the game smoother.
You're not missing anything by not playing it though, and with only 150 mons it feels really lacking.
Not worth the whole 60 bucks and I can understand why people don't like it.

Was it easy? Sure
Was it perfect? Of course not
Still one of, if not the best pokemon game we got in a while

Also it gave us(me) assertive yandere blue/green/leaf, and that was priceless

Overworld Pokemon encounters are fine, much less of a chore than random encounters. And they would be even better if the region was designed with them in mind.
Not gonna pretend LGPE isn't piss easy or that is has a satisfying post game, but you can make at least one of those complaints about almost every Pokemon game.

I didn't play it, but I bought it for my mum since she loves Go and she loved this game.

Since I've never played it myself to know the quality of the gameplay, I'll just say this game was really pretty. The colour palette they used was by far the best yet.

It seems like it'd be a fun casual game. Riding pokemon, interacting with your pikachu/eevee, and the graphics are all kind of neat. The pokemon go pokeball gimmick seems like it'd get old fast, and the easiness of the game also could get annoying. Kids could figure out Red/blue/firered/leafgreen kanto, so why the fuck can't they figure it out these days? They aren't dumber. Adults especially, the ones who grew up with pokemon have no excuse. This game should have been difficulty-wise closer to FR/LG than what it really is. It sucks too, because the game looks nice graphics wise.
