1- the town isn't a bunch of cramped straight lines
2- we still don't know how actually big the town is and if we can exlore the surroundings (caves etc.)
and i probably never will though cause apart from looking better this game looks generic and doesn't interest me in the slightest, what a waste of effort

This logic is retarded, all the big projects like the Fallouts/Elder Scrolls GTAs Cyberpunk 2077 etc. all take years to make but it always pays back in the end.
Yes, pokemon game still sell a lot but if one of their normal ones sells 15 millions of copies for ex. an even more ambitious project would duplicate or even triplicate that
