The fuckin' shapes and lines, gen 1 designs are bare but have more angular shapes and joints. This monster's sharp fur and horn shapes reminds me of those design sensibilities. Not a kantofag at all, just making an observation.

But many recent gens' designs fit that, as well. Of course, not the first stages meant to be cute and shit, those will always be simplistic, but many third stages do share those complex traits. Also the UBs.
