Mental gymnastics, the lifestyle. They have more than 8 designers to make 100 pokemon each, a good size team on each new gen. They have roughly one-three pokemon from each designer in each gen. That’s a super reasonable quota. I’m sure quality control rejection sucks but if you make one a week for a year with that level of professionalism it shouldn’t be a problem to add 150 each gen. They just don’t want to add too many at once
