This guy for a lot of reasons. He reminds me of Beholders, which are a favorite and nostalgic monster from D&D for me. I also love his pre-evo and the lore surrounding them. He was cool in the anime, his mega is super awesome, I love Ice types, and he’s solid all around stat-wise. Not a super flexible move pool, but the moves he does have are thematically pretty neat. He was one of the few non-Legendary Pokémon to have a signature move, which is something I always thought was pretty awesome and unique. I also like and think he has a pretty distinct and unique cry.
He’s also got a great, subtle but striking shiny form that I absolutely adore. I have one named Nostromo that I got all the ribbons on from 4th Gen onward. He’s my oni snowball bro and I love him.
